William Livingston (November 30, 1723 – July 25, 1790) was an American politician who served as the first non-Colonial governor of New Jersey (1776–1790) during the American Revolutionary War. As a New Jersey representative in the Continental Congress, he signed the Continental Association and the United States Constitution. Stephen Crane was a novelist, poet, and journalst. He was born November 1, 1871, at 14 Mulberry Place, Newark, New Jersey. Crane is best known for his novel The Red Badge of Courage (1895) that depicted the experiences of a soldier in the Civil War. During the Spanish-American War (1898), Crame served as a correspondent.
